$2,000 goal
Through service to public charter schools, INDIGO Education, a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, works to ensure that students with disabilities have access to a free, appropriate, public education.
Did you know?
- There is a shortage of special education teachers in Minnesota
- The average duration of a special educator's career is 3 to 5 years.
- 38% of students in Minnesota are children of color; however, only 7% of teachers are identified as People of Color.
Funds raised during Give to the Max 2022 will allow INDIGO Education to address these issues head-on by supporting:
- Mentoring, instructional coaching, and cohorts to support 500 new and experienced special educators and paraprofessionals.
- The creation of resources to assist special education teams from 65 charter schools as they navigate the school year and provide exceptional service to over 20,000 students.
- The development of a comprehensive licensure program to increase educator diversity and ensure that more individuals have the opportunity to enter the field.
