The Augsburg wrestling team is doing a season-long pin pledge to raise money for our program.

$53,870

raised by 420 people

$15,000 goal

The future of our team depends on the support of our alumni, friends and family. As our wrestlers pursue excellence through 1% percent improvement, they continue to receive the best training in the country and it’s all made possible through your support, which is why we are asking you to help with our annual pin pledge.

Our pin pledge is a fundraiser which helps our wrestlers reach their potential on and off the mat. Your Auggies had many great accomplishments last year, and are looking to add to the historic Augsburg wrestling tradition this season. Highlights from last season and things to watch for the upcoming 2017-18 campaign are:

Augsburg finished the 2017 season with the program's 31st consecutive Region Team Championship and a Runner-Up finish at the NCAA DIII National Wrestling Championships.

Your Auggies had five All-Americans which increases the program’s total NCAA record to 237 individual All-Americans. We had 4 Freshmen All-Americans for the first time in program history.

Coach Jim Moulsoff was named the West Region Coach of the Year and Coach Tony Valek was named the West Region Assistant Coach of the Year.

Your Auggies also excelled in the classroom by adding 9 NWCA Scholar All-Americans to increase the program’s total to 144 which is more than any program sponsored by the NCAA. The Auggies placed 2nd in the nation in the academic national team standings and continued their streak of 3.2 or higher team GPAs for the last 19 years.

Your 2017-18 Auggies return three All-Americans, seven wrestlers with National Tournament experience and seven Scholar All-Americans.

Please support our pin pledge by donating on this site. Pins that count towards the Auggie pin total are pins in varsity dual meet and pins at Regionals and Nationals. Over the last five seasons, the Auggies have averaged 50 pins per season, so if you wanted to donate $1 dollar per pin, you would donate $50 on this site.

Like the last couple years, we are able to accept donations online by credit card. You need to do so on this site by Thursday, Nov. 16th. Augsburg University is competing against the other colleges in Minnesota to see who can fund raise more money on Give to the Max Day, which is Thursday, Nov. 16th, and the wrestling pin pledge is helping to support the college on this day. 100 percent of your donation will go to Augsburg Wrestling, but you will also be indirectly supporting Augsburg University in their Give to the Max day competition.

Your donations will provide:

o    Team Travel – We travel out of the Midwest to the Citrus Open in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the NWCA National Duals in Fort Wayne, Ind., and the 2017 NCAA Division III National Championships in Cleveland, Ohio. Our wrestlers are required to pay for their plane ticket to Florida and your donation will go directly to the wrestler of your choice's ticket.

o    Alumni Events and Team Banquets – Be a part of the events where we recognize and appreciate the alumni and friends of Augsburg University for their support of Augsburg Wrestling. This year’s 4th Annual Homecoming Bean Bag Tournament had over 125 alumni and friends of the program attend. Everyone received a free T-shirt, free pork sandwiches and free drinks. We will also be hosting our reunion of 8's in conjunction with our dual against UW-Eau Claire on Sunday, January 21st.

o    Enhancement of the Coaching Staff – Our coaching staff works hard to produce a winning program on and off the mat. This year’s staff has an Olympic gold and silver medalist, a National Championship, 9 national finals appearances, and 16 All-American Honors.

Your support gives our wrestlers an advantage in achieving their academic and athletic goals. The continued success of our historic program is directly impacted by you. I hope that you will consider supporting Augsburg Wrestling with a donation to our pin pledge. We thank you in advance for your continued support. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email or call.
