Making music becomes an interactive community engagement that makes people happy

$2,910

raised by 21 people

$5,000 goal

We want to invite you to be a part of the Charles S. Anderson Music Hall “Ode to Joy Music Garden.” The Music Department is installing three beautiful outdoor instruments that are perfect for music therapy and music education. These instruments will be a “gift of Music” to the community. They will allow all generations to play together, be handicapped-accessible, and can be a musical, living tribute to a loved one. They are designed for outdoor durability and will withstand our Minnesota climate, as well as provide an aesthetically pleasing addition to our campus.

Making music becomes an interactive community engagement that makes people happy. The instrument layout also allows the tones of each instrument to complement one another. Played alone or together, these interactive instruments are sure to make an instant musician out of any visitor.

Augsburg music alumna, Jana Skrien Koppula ’04 MT-BC, shared, “The music garden will serve as a reminder to the college and community of the incredible power of music. I urge you all to consider donating to a legacy that will make you proud of your Augsburg roots for years to come.”

Our goal is to raise $12,000 in order to have three instruments installed by our 40th year, September 2014.

Your gift makes a difference!

Your gift—of any amount—will help us purchase three beautiful outdoor instruments in the “Ode to Joy Music Garden.”  You may also make your gift in honor of a family member, professor, or classmate. (Please note this when you make your gift in the “dedication” box.) A donation of $250 or more to the Music Garden also adds your name to the 40th Anniversary Music Therapy Plaque.

Your gift benefits the Music Therapy program and Augsburg College as a whole. It is our dream that we can have these instruments installed and ready to be played by a year from now.  YOU can help us make it happen! Thank you for your support.

Sing your heart out!
