Historic Hutchinson

Historic Hutchinson's mission is to restore, to preserve, and to protect the living and structural history and spirit of the Hutchinson area, and to showcase these assets now and in the future.

Founded in 1999, Historic Hutchinson has been committed to preserving our local history and sharing our passion for restoration with the community. Since its conception, the group has raised over $500,000 for our completed and ongoing projects, such as the historic Harrington-Merrill property. 

In 2023 alone, we have hosted nearly 350 people on our free historic bus tours where we share Hutchinson's story and showcase interesting places and important sites.   

We rely solely on donations, fundraisers and our incredible group of volunteers to continue our efforts in restoring physical pieces and places of historical significance, as well as hosting tours and events to spread the word about our group and our mission.

Historic Hutchinson has many projects that have been completed this year, such as fundraising to save, preserve and re-install a nearly 100 year old clock in our downtown.

We also gathered donations to completely restore 14 original stained glass windows in our Historic St. John's Episcopal Church, that serves as a gathering place for events and is available for rent to the public. These fully refurbished windows will stand beautifully for many years to come. 

The group has many more exciting projects currently in the works with hopes of completion in the near future. We are so grateful for any and all donations that help us to reach our goals of preserving our local living and structural history for many generations to come!
